Working For Our Community
What are Community Councils?
Community Councils are voluntary organisations for their local area and are independent of Fife Council. There are 105 Community Councils in Fife. They express the views and concerns of local people, bridging the gap between communities and the local authority. They meet regularly in public. Local residents are encouraged to attend.

Dysart Community Council
We are a group of Dysart community residents, dedicated to helping and improving the area in which we all live. We hold monthly meetings to discuss any issues that may need attention. We work alongside Fife Council to inform them what is happening in the area and what needs to be done.
It consists of three elected community councillors, together with the local councillors in attendance. We are organised in line with the "standing orders" for community councils prepared by Fife Council - https://www.fife.gov.uk/__data/assets/word_doc/0025/162745/Model-Standing-Orders-2006.doc
Minutes from each meeting are available on this website. Look for the link next to the meeting date on either the Event Listing or Regular Activity pages.
Elected Representatives
The community councillors are elected each year at an annual general meeting. Currently as of April 2025, we have George Strang as interim Chair.
Sub Groups
The three community councillors are supported by resident sub-groups, including:
